Beat the Heat With These Fun Family Friendly Activities in Las Vegas

August 09, 2016

Las Vegas is full of entertainment. Everywhere you look, there are shows, casinos, or concerts. It's a city with a never-ending supply of exciting things to do, but what about the kids? If you live in Vegas and want an entertaining family weekend, or you're planning a summer vacation with the kids check out these fun family-friendly activities that will help you stay cool in the summer heat.

Adventuredome Theme Park

Should be on your list. What kid wouldn't want to go to a five-acre indoor theme park? There's something for everyone with kid rides, roller coasters, and thrill rides. That would be enough to draw a crowd, but the fun doesn't stop there. Try your luck with fair games before playing a round of mini-golf. It's free to enter, only pay for the rides and games you want to enjoy.

Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

Will be a thrill for you and your kids as you gaze upon the ocean's dangerous predators. You'll be able to see, not only sharks but rays and crocodiles as well. Of course, there's also some exotic fish if you want to see the ocean's less predatory inhabitants. There's a touch pool your kids are sure to love, as well as a walk through the tunnel in the shark exhibit.

Lee Canyon

Will take you and your family to new heights, literally. At a higher elevation than Las Vegas, Lee Canyon is a great place to find some cooler air in the mountains. Featuring great summer activities such as disc golf, scenic chair rides, stunning wedding accommodations, and frosty brews at Bristlecone Bar & Grill, Lee Canyon is a perfect break from the strip.

Cowabunga Bay Las Vegas

Is for those days when you really need to cool down quickly. In the Southeast part of the city, Cowabunga Bay is a water park that features thrilling water slides, numerous swimming options, and areas just for kids. Whether you have kids or want to act like one for a day, this is the spot to splash around.

Madame Tussaud's

Is the perfect place to take your superhero fans. Inside you'll find many life-like wax figures ranging from television to music icons, but what's sure to please is the Marvel wax figures. Your superhero fans will shriek with joy when they see Captain America, Iron Man, and The Hulk! Take them in to see the 4-D theater experience. Here you'll watch your Marvel heroes battling villains with a Vegas backdrop. Along with 3-D film effects, you'll experience interactive water sprays, smoke, and feel the earth tremble beneath your feet.

Origin Climbing and Fitness

Is an indoor climbing facility that will be fun for everyone, whether you're a seasoned climber or brand new to the activity. There's plenty of fun activities for the kids. They'll have a blast at Summer Climbing Camp. Go for the week or just a day, either way, your kids will love all the activities. It's more than just climbing, although they'll have a blast doing that too. Included in their camp experience will be water balloon battles, dance parties, and games, including dodgeball. There's also movies to enjoy and cookies to decorate. It's a great way for your kids to spend their energy and a fun way to spend time with other kids.

If you can't stay all day, there's also Kid's Climb Time, which is a one-hour climbing session designed for children of all ages and skill levels. They're sure to enjoy the variety of climbing terrain available. Kids Climb Time also includes equipment and an instructor to assist your child as they climb. If your child is passionate to learn how to climb, consider joining one of our youth teams. They will spend two hours each week with other kids coached as they climb. It's a great way to start.

Of course, Origin  has stuff for you adults as well. Spend your day exploring one of their six hundred different climbs, taking a yoga class, or strengthening your core in the fitness facility, all included in your day pass or membership.

M&M'S World

Is a treat for any kid who likes candy - and who doesn't? M&M's World has four stories of candy and all sorts of M&M gifts. The kids might enjoy picking out a stuffed animal while you get your new coffee mug. Look at luggage and cookware while your children gawk at all the chocolate, or you can stare at it with them. There's plenty of it to see. While you're there make sure you personalize your own M&M's and watch as they're made. It'll be a fun stop, and you can find plenty of gifts for those who love M&M's as much as your kids.

Take your family to any or all of these places and you're sure to have a fabulous Las Vegas experience, and you'll avoid the summer heat while you do it.
