The Las Vegas climbing community is one of the most unique and diverse groups of people anywhere in the world. At ORIGIN, our members are our family. Every month we'll feature one of our most outstanding community leaders to help inspire new visitors to jump in and become part of the crew.
My buddy (gym partner) and I though it'd be fun to try out. I had no idea I'd enjoy it so much.
I'd say the movement, the puzzle of the climbs. It's just cool to finally get the flow of a problem or new technique.
Ahhh, bouldering. I'm still too scared of heights to really enjoy Sport Climbing, haha.
I haven't been climbing all that long, so my only experience is a little bit of Red Rock. Discovering that a place like Kraft Boulders is so close was way cool though!
I like how there seems to be a never ending progression in technique, so I'm looking forward to learning more and the subtleties of movements I already know. My main goal is to keep working on my mental game, so basically more time climbing on a rope! I want to send Monkey Bars (V2), I know I can do it, but again, it's a bit scary outside where there isn't a big ol' gym pad. A V7 at Origin is also on my list.
I grew up here, and yet...I have no idea, I'm pretty boring. There is a really good Mediterranean place named Parsley on Sunset Rd.
I like that I actually feel like a part of a community, I feel very comfortable when I'm there. When I first started climbing, which was at Origin, I really wanted to meet some climbing friends and get involved. So far I've had a lot of fun at the events you have held!
You. Tube. Haha, uhhh, it's a skill sport, it's not all about strength. A little time watching someone climb and trying to emulate that goes a long way.
